Thumbs up FAL fans roll call!

Gang,

I added some new sub-forums today related to various types of firearms. Of course the FAL had to be included given its huge following and large numbers of military users. I hope members will enjoy this area as I am sure there are many FAL fans on the forum. I dearly love the FAL, and not just because of my affiliation with DSA. Please post here if you are a FAL fan, and bring on some pictures if you have them!

John

I'm a big fan of the FN-FAL. I don't have one, but I'm definately trying to get one. My roomate had one and it was smooth like butter. I got a Cetme and I love it. Think we can add Cetme/HK PTR-91's to this forum?

I'm a FAL fan and enjoyed firing them with the British army where they were known as the SLR (self loading rifle). They are a great battle rifle and I really want one but I must save my pennies!

Centerfire have what looks like a good deal but the builder is unknown and I think I'd rather get a DSA build - even if it is $1k more.

How hard is it to scope a FAL? I'd love to get a DSA and put some quality glass on it.

The DSA mount works great. I prefer the extended one as I do not have carry handles on my SA58s. I also suggest getting the Speed Trigger when ordering from DSA. It is essentially just a really good trigger job. FALs tend to have heavy triggers, although the factory DSA guns I have handled were nowhere near as bad as military guns in that respect.

Good to know.

What's the difference between the SA58 line and the STG58 ("Austrian") line? The price difference is quite striking.

Here is mine

Purchased my DSA FAL in 2009 shoots great.....and whoever mentioned the trigger upgrade I concur comletely. This one of the best triggers I have on any weapon. Mine was like this in the store the day I purchased it so no waiting.... it also has the Robar NP3 treament. I added the scope and red dot combo from Burris and its really nice also. The pictures don't show the camo tape cover that I added after they were taken.... I love this rifle..... Its very reliable and eats everything.
