Hello folks,
Is anyone well versed in the Michigan carry laws?
In Michigan you can conceal carry a loaded pistol in a vehicle with a CPL.
My question is, can you open carry a loaded pistol in your vehicle with a CPL?
Or, is your vehicle automatically considered "concealed"?
I guess I just want to know if I can have a loaded pistol, in a holster, bolted to the dash, out in the open if I wanted to?

It seemed to take forever... but, today, I feel a little taller, prepared and informed. I've opt'd for the florida non-resident CCW permit for my carry license here in Ohio. Covers more states, & is good for 7 yrs instead of Ohio's 5. Besides, if I have to go to Michigan, everyone there is already armed and dangerous!... thanx for listening.

Talk about shoving it in the face of the California legislature!

My wife and I attended a basic NRA sponsored hand gun training program and received the certificate of completion. I was told by the instructor that with these certificates in our hands, we would easily qualify for an Arizona non-resident CCW permit. We went through the application process to include fingerprints and submitted the applications as soon as we could.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety advertised at turnaround time of no less than 60 days. That time was exceeded and we started to get nervous. I think it was about day 77 when we finally received our permits good for 5 years! Better late than never. The delay may have been caused by the sudden rush of CCW permits given the political environment.

California can kiss my a$$. Thanks again Gov. Jan Brewer and your beautiful state for your trust and issuing true American patriots our Arizona CCW permits!

A few days ago I saw a guy run out of Footlocker with about 6 boxes of shoes. At first I didnt think much but he droped a box or two and kept running, thats when I knew he was stealing. he was about 200lbs 5'10 male.

Then comes out what looked like a manager, younger lady, chasing him. Only because of that, I followed behind them in my car, in case the guy would attack her or something.

It ended up the guy got away with 2 or 3 boxes, spilled the others on the street, and the lady was fine, walked back with what she could find on the street.

----

so here's the question... I'm thinking to myself...Had I been carrying, I could have pulled in front of the theif and ordered him down. but at the same time, its not really my problem...and I dont want to play cop, and there's the posibility he would engage me, whether by hand or knife or gun, who knows.

Would you guys have intervened and stopped a theif who seems harmless and is just stealing from a store...just running away scared shitless dropping half of his contents? or just let them go and let the store chalk up the losses?

In the end I decided not to do anything, let the store worry about it.

I have pretty much narrowed my choices between a few. Obviously I would like to get the best bang for my buck and not have to wait 6 months. It would need to both support at a minimum a kydex OWB (medium or high ride both with and without a weapon light) holster with approx a 3 lbs Service model XD and one or two additional 12 round mags while being used through the existing pants loop, 1.75 inch ideally.

My list is (in no particular order)
SOE Cobra riggers or low profile
Ares Ranger
Wilderness Tactical
5.11 Operator
Blackhawk cqb

Any experience and recommendations?

I prefer nylon to leather. and the belt would be used through the loops and not as a duty belt with keepers. I dont really need a cobra buckle (which seems to be all the rage) but it isn't a negative either.
any recommendations?

Packed up my daughter at 0600 this morning, spent 15 hours at the Softball park while she played in a four game Tournament. There were only a couple of times during the day that I caught myself thinking about printing. The rest of the time, it was just a normal day!

Hello Everyone! I just recently received my NYS Pistol Permit in Orange County. I applied for a Full Carry Unrestricted permit but did not get it. My permit states I am allowed to carry my gun for Target, Hunting, Fishing (?), Camping, & Hiking. When I picked up my XD9SC I expressed my dissapointment to the owner and he told me to reapply stating that I want to apply for a permit out of state and that a NYS Full Carry is required to do so. I was actually planning on applying out of state anyway but I wish I knew this before I wrote my "reason for full carry" letter to the judge. Has anyone ever tried this? Should I take an additional safety course before reapplying? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

So I recently decided to get my CHP so I can carry more often, and set up an appointment with the El Paso County Sheriff's office. First available appt was Monday June 10!!! Hopefully once I get the appointment out of the way wit will come fast. I know, wishful thinking nowadays!

Anyone else from Colorado Springs recently get their CHP? If so how long does the appointment take, and then how long did it take to get your permit in the mail. The one thing I'm worried about slowing me down is I've bounced around a lot over the last 10 years, and they ask for all previous residences. I probably have 10 addresses for that list.

I've had my Minnesota "Permit to Carry a Pistol" for only a couple months, and now find myself in a position where the family will be relocating to Michigan soon. If I understand correctly, as soon as I cease being a legal resident of MN, I'll need to get my MI permit. If that's the case, it's a real shame, as MN and MI have reciprocity, and my current permit is good for 5 full years (expires in Feb 2018)...

So, anyone know the full details on how this will work? What the timeline is (is there a "grace period" where I would be able to carry before having to retake a class and get a MI permit)? Any advice for classes in the Traverse City area?

While I'm at it - I've done some initial searching and see a few LGS', but sometimes good places don't have a web presence... Any shops I should know about? Thanks!

Something told me to check the mail.

If you are in FL, I think you should get an appointment. It took less than 3 weeks for me to have the license in my hand.
Now I can wear THIS:
