I always wanted a Blur and just never broke down and bought one. Been looking at the new BM Volli after some reviews have been post and I really like it as well. Having owned only one BM and several Kershaws I'm torn between these two. The Volli is around $135, best I could find on the popular websites. And I found the Blur with the S30V blade for around $85. Am I trying to compare apples to oranges here?? Is BM that much better?? I like the one I have (H&K auto model) but I have also enjoyed my Kershaws along the was as well. Just don't want to drop the coin on the BM and then wish I would have saved money and just got the blur....Thought??

Folders, from top to bottom:
Spyderco Endura 4 FRN blue handle (my go-to defensive carry blade)
Spyderco Tenacious, duracoated in matte black
Cold Steel Medium Voyager
SOG Mini Aegis (alternate defensive carry when I go to places with 3" blade limits)

Fixed Blades:
Gerber Command II Special 30th Anniversary Edition (1 of 1500 made!)
KA-BAR Utility Combat Knife in OD Green
Cold Steel Leatherneck SF SK5 full flat grind version (now discontinued)
SOG NW Ranger

The thing I like most about these blades is that while they are cool to look at and fondle, all of them (except the Gerber) are all user knives that I could and in some cases do put into regular use. Just some free knife porn for ya'll, enjoy!

As a vermonter I enjoy my right to carry a gun at all times, I have my NH carry permit to allow me to carry in NH, however, I know I can't have a gun with me in NY. This summer I am going on several bike trips that involv camping in NY, and I'm having trouble figuring out what I can carry as far as knives go. I would prefer a fixed blade, but don't know what length I can carry. Can anyone give me an idea of what I can carry? Thank you. (I will not be entering the city)

I had been looking to replace my Gerber Paraframe II that had been by primary EDC blade for years and I had considered the Benchmade Mini Barrage that a friend has. I got excited about the Volli because it is like the "mama bear" between the Barrage (3.6") and the Mini Barrage (2.91"). Also the G10 scales are look sweet and are even sweeter in the hand.

S30V got to love it!

Spines of both the Volli and the Paraframe II

The Volli is quite a change from my old Gerber

So far I'm diggin the knife even more in person. The Axis Assist is quick and locks up tight. The sculpted G10 scales are smooth and grippy at the same time. And like all Benchmades the knife is stupid sharp out of the box.

The Volli is tip up carry only which may be a turn off to some but it is fully ambidextrous for right or left hand use. You can close it one handed either with a pant leg or manipulating the Axis Lock with you thumb and pushing with your index finger but I prefer 2 handed close as I do with most assisted knives.

Haven't had an opportunity to carry or use this knife much so this is more of an unboxing and initial impression post. I am about to rotate back on at work and this will be my EDC after I work with it for this rotation I'll report back with some carry and usage findings.
