Question 40 service and 9mm conversion barrel

Don,

I have an XD 40 Service model and a Bar-sto semi drop-in 9mm barrel.

If I get your guide rod and a 22# spring for the .40 (as I think I read somewhere that you thought this was the optimal spring weight for the .40) can I use the original (18#???) spring for the 9mm or should I try something else?

The present setup works good (9mm barrel and factory .40 spring) except the last bullet does not load from my .40 magazine so I need to get 9mm mags.

Thanks,

Tom.

The .40 slide is a bit larger and carries more weight, so the factory used the same recoil assembly. This is where I thought I wanted a heavier spring. Going with the 9mm barrel I can see were the stock spring would feel fine, and if you like it stay with that.
As far as the last bullet not loading what is happening? It may be that a magazine lip adjustment will help.

Thanks, Don. I will order one as soon as Old School gets some springs.
