DGR questions

I got Don's guide rod for my xd9 5" but I don't see any apparent physical difference between it and the stocker guide rod, except Don's is a polished steel.

The stocker is the same dimensions (as compared to the stocker XD40 Service which has two different springs, and all that.)

What are the differences between DGR and the 5" stocker? (I got DGR on my XD40 service, and it works great)

Also, the spring that came with Don's guide rod seems too stiff as the gun short strokes.

Any suggestions for me?

Dimensionally it is pretty much the same as the stock rod, but adds about 1 oz. of weight and is stainless.
If it is short stroking you can try hotter ammo, a lighter spring, or a firmer grip, whichever you think you can do or that applies.

What spring weight did you get? Stock is 18lbs.

Thanx for the explanation. I love it in my XD40, it runs great.

What spring weight came with it? And what would be a lighter spring weight you'd recommend?

Check your receipt or email confirmation to see what you ordered, as I think you have to select the specific weight. I only supply the rods, the website owners set up their sites and I never pay attention to how they set them up (no slights on any sites, just explainin' why I can't say for sure).
