DGR for Walther P99 4 in.

Don, it seems with minor modification (design of the bushing) the DGR could be used in the Walther P99 standard model (4 in. barrel). Have you considered offering for other guns i.e. the Walther? Thanks.

If someone can get me dimensions ( or anyone nearby have one for me to measure) I can do some prototypes.

Don, tell me exactly what dimensions you need and I will do my best to provide. Right now the only option is the Sprinco system. The one thing I can provide is the length of the plastic OEM rod - it is 3 inches.

For the Walther P99 owners out there and who might be in Don's neck of the woods, if he could take a look at your slide, that would be great. I think all that needs to be done is to tweak the bushing size.

I think I have more top end, but it changed idle and midrange and I have not tuned for that.

But there is always room in my garage for more guiderods.

As stated above - there are lots of P99 owners over the years posting messages about metal guide rods for the P99. If U did come up with one and marketed it on the right websites - I think it would be popular.

+1 and don't let the moans and groans of a few naysayers influence you othewise Don. I had one individual at another site with his innards in an uproar over the prospect of a DGR system for the P99 out of principal (you know, "if it ain't stock, it ain't good" school of thought). Unfortunately, I don't think he ever heard of the DGR let alone fired an XD with one installed. As Shipwreck said, build one that works, market it right, demonstrate the benefits, and I think you could do well.

Well, I am fine with the stock guiderod - but have been a P99 fanatic for a while now. And, I am on tons of gun forums. I see people asking about an alternative guiderod (besides the SpringCo setup) QUITE a bit.

I think it would sell.

Shipwreck has the pulse of the shooting community and he's right. At the Steyr Club forum, I noticed that someone is offering a replacement s/s rod for the M9/40 A1 and it is widely accepted.
