DGR w/#22 spring + XD9

The stock is #18 right?

And would paying $30 for the DGR make the recoil noticably lighter or should I just save my money?

Go ahead and try it if you want. Recoil, or perception of recoil, is different for everyone.

If I were you, I think I would spend that $30 first on more ammo, and get +/- 1000 rounds down range before I looked at too many modifications. Also, (not being critical) you seem to have several posts related to recoil, you may want to consider getting some professional instruction on grip, stance, etc... as all of these can effect percieved recoil. Almost everyone can benefit from some form of instruction, if you don't let your ego get in the way.

In my XD40 there was some change in how the gun recoiled but I also liked it for reliability.

The recoil with a #22 is very light. It is nice for follow up shots and rapid fire. Be aware that you need to really hold the gun firm, if not you'll get FTE's. My bro-in-law wasn't holding it firm enough but not quite limp wristing and he had a couple FTE's. I've never had a problem with it.

Overall: nice mod.

I think thats most of my problem. I didnt think to ask my uncle to show me how he holds the gun because he got it, shot a clip and hit all 16 rounds... I try to hold it like I saw in the video someone posted here, with my thumbs straight and I lock my wrist with my arms fully extended?. As far as stance, Im clueless...

By luck, I did manage to hit a couple clay targets that I had set out about 60 yards away... Took me about 5 shots to hit 1..

The stance I like the most is the Isosceles stance. Feet are positioned shoulder width apart with the gun and arms straight out in front of you. Bend knees and lean in, this helps recoil absorption. It forms an isosceles triangle, hence the name. I prefer to square up to the target.
