XD SC Rod and Spring, Woops!

Woops!, back to the drawing board.

Some assumptions were made regaurding the rod and spring dimensions. And well you know what they say about assumptions. No big deal though. I figured it was 50/50 on whether it work the first time through. The master is at work (Not me, Don).

I took my newly acquired SC out today for a bit of shooting of the WWB ammo, and there is good news and bad news.

The bad news first: I don't think I will make a rod for the SC.

The good news: I don't think it needs one!

The brass was landing 2-3 ft off of my right rear all in a neat little pile, which says that the spring is the right weight, right out of the box. My buddy shooting it saw the same thing. This leads me to believe that a stronger spring would cause all kinds of user problems. I know that we love to buy toys for our kids, but from my experience today it would be a waste.

If you feel a strong need to spend money on your SC, you can send $20 in US dollars or the equivalent in kroners direct to me and I'll say viking prayers for it to strengthen it in battle. It would be money better spent

I'm with you Don. I love your guide rod and 22lb spring in my XD Service pistol but my SC is just right.
