don's verses wolf's rod
What if any difference is there between the Wolf guide rod set up and don's guide rod. Brownell's has the wolf rod and spring. Is one any better than the other.

I'm sure someone else will give a more scientific answer, but I'd rather see a forum member get the money than Wolf...

Welcome to the forum Bowie Tactical!
The Wolff rod uses a unique spring with a flared end to keep the end of the spring from coming out of the front of the slide. The Don's Guide Rod uses a unique washer to center the rod and contain the spring. Standard springs that fit the Springfield Compact 1911 will work with my design. When all is working right you wouldn't be able to tell the difference firing the pistol. A couple of members have reported the Wolff designed spring has slipped by the rod and out the end of the muzzle. This can't happen with a washer blocking the hole in the slide. In all fairness of reporting problems:Post subject: anyone notice bent washers?. We found a diameter that worked I sent him several. |
