Oh GOD please help with my wife!!!

Ok my wife has the xd9 service. She is a very small woman. Bout 100 lbs 5'3". Just shooting winchester range rounds she complains that the gun feels harsh. Problem is im a fairly big guy and dont notice any problem. She fires my and my friends weapons (PX4 9mm, SigPro 40mm, M&P40, hell even an AR 15 pistol) and says that they feel so much less harsh to her. Im assuming she is complaining about the muzzle flip. In this case would you recommend the DGR with the # 22 spring? Also is www.pistolgear.com the only place i can get them. They are out of stock and she is impatient. Pretty much need one for the weekend or have to buy her a new pistol just to shut her up. and $30 sounds a hell of alot better than a couple hundred.
Thank You in advance

My wife's the opposite way: She hates 9mm -- says it's a "sissy" caliber -- not enough OOMPH for her and she's willing to wait forever to get her stuff....

Damn, that sounds like a good woman you have there, I would buy the extra pistol, most of us have trouble justifying buying another gun.

I THINK, not 100% that pistolgear is the only site that has DGR. Ill wait for someone else to verify....

I have the 4" 40 XD, and I went with the 22#. This helps recoil, muzzle flip dramaticlly. Easier, quicker follow up shots as a result.. only problem I see for the wife would be that its a bit tougher to rack the slide with a 22# spring Vs the stock 18#. Other than that, Id say its a great step in curing her prob.

+10000 on Grahamstein, let alone justifying myself buying another piece, I cant even get my wife remotely interested in coming to the range with me

DGR and a 22# spring is nice

OR

Bring home a bucket of chicken a couple nights a week and take her to Baskin Robbins or something.

Well thru a yours mine and ours ordeal we have 6 combined children. A bucket of chicken = about 4 boxes of range rounds. Peanut butter and jelly will suffice.

Welcome to the forum, DanD! The 22# spring would probably help control the muzzle flip, but she might not be able to rack the slide. Have you considered a tunsten guide rod? That would give her considerably more weight in the front end.
