Tungsten Guide Rod?
Has anyone used one? and what are your thoughts on it? I use Tungsten in some of me 1911's to control the slide on follow up shots. I just got a Tactical 40 and I am have a hard time with the second shot.
Thanks, |

It would be cheaper to play with springs first to see if that does it for you.
I have wondered about a poor-man's tungsten rod to see how it may feel: buy some $6 scope rings at Walmart and mount a small chunk of 1" steel round stock to simulate the weight. You would have to grind down one ring's width to mount both, but a single one may work. I suppose a plain billet steel block with cross bolts could be a cheap thing for inertial weight. |
