Don's Tungston Guide Rod Review
Waiting to put this in was well worth it!
Recoil is SUBSTANTIALLY reduced. Follow up seems quicker due to the reduced recoil. The guide rod does make the gun noticably heavier, and the tougher spring makes the gun seem more rigid. Going to my M9's stock recoil rod/spring makes me want to do a similar mod to the Steyr. Shooting seems to have improved some, but I still found myself anticipating the recoil, more so than my 9mm and subsequently had some poor groups at times. I do recommend the $60 to get this done. |

Thanks NExd.
Since the rod doesn't move, it's weight/inertia help on the muzzle flip. The spring is managing the slide movement. I have the material on hand to make myself one, I just need to get around to it. |
