anyone notice bent washers?
After standard shooting, i've had all 3 types of washers bend and deform a bit.
There is an indentation from the raw end of the spring, and an overal curvature, about 10 degrees, on the once flat washers. anyone else getting this? |

The indent will be normal (but it should be light), but the curve sounds odd. Do the washers seat flat in the the slide? If the dimension in your slide is a bit smaller this might happen. Do the edges of the washer you deformed look as if they where bearing some weight or otherwise scarred?
If it is a dimensional problem I can fab up custom sizes and make it work. But I still wonder if others have seen this. |

There are times when washers have trouble lying flat. I found the best way to seat the washer is to use the wide, flat portion of the guide rod as a set tool. That said, I have never seen or heard of a bent/deformed washer.

Great photo! Looking at the damage to the edges, it looks as though the recess in your slide is smaller than what I had found before. I will fab up some washers that are smaller outside diameter and send them to you. Send me your email and I'll get some of differring diameters. I'll just send the bronze for now, and once we get the size down I will do whatever material you prefer.
