Wolf Spring question

How often should you change the Wolff spring on a XD service model once you converted to DFLGR? I know that the XD-9 recoil spring assembly from SA lasted about 2000 rounds according to them.

I would pay attention to where your empty brass is landing. When it starts moving out the spring is getting weaker.

Another way is to compare the length to a new spring of the same weight. When the old spring becomes ½" shorter than the new one it's time to change.

Thanks for the tip. I never get to know how far my brass flies as I shoot indoors and it bounces of the walls inside my lane enclosure.

Wolf Striker spring

On the web site for wolff springs they tell you that a new striker spring will ship with the recoil spring..what is this for and why do they send it ?

Also on the site the only offer up to a 21 pound spring, where is everyone getting the 22# spring that is so popular?

Since the spring is actually sold for the 1911 Springfield Compact that firing spring is not of any use for the XD.

RECOIL SPRING are available in load-rated specifications to adjust the recoil function to individual needs. Each load rated recoil spring includes an extra power firing pin spring.

* Reduced Power...: 18 and 20 Lb.
* Factory Standard.: 22 Lb.
* Extra Power.........: 24 Lb.
You have to get to the right pistol to get the right listing, it is http://www.gunsprings.com/SemiAuto/S...F.html#Compact

Make sure you are looking at part number 493xx

That spring is just for the XD/HS2000 service model.

There is nothing for the sub-compact.

thanks, Don. I am going to switch from the stock spring and guide rod to one of yours when they become available again. Both places are out of stock right now.
