Behold there is a difference
I have had a Don's guide rod on my xd .40 service for a little over 2.5 years. A little while ago while cleaning or something I lost the little washer that protects the inside of the frame from the sharp end of the spring. I looked around for the spare I thought I had and couldn't find it. So I placed an order with pistolgear for the new incarnation of the little buger. In the meantime I put the stock (springfield) spring and rod back in and went to the range as I would normally --Behold! there was a noticable distinction between the two. I also ordered a #22 spring. With my rod and new spring back in there home the range was just a little more fun again. It makes some difference on recoil recovery time and every little bit helps.
Thanks Brian |

Now with the xd it is stock with a 18lb spring. If we put a heaver lb spring on isn't there less reward pressure BUT now there will be MORE force going forward and the slide slamming more strongly shut then it was intended?
