Finally got out to the range...
I ordered a DGR and 22# spring from Pistol Gear and have not been able to get out to the range to test it due to weather.....
Until today!!! Now, it had been awhile since I had shot my XD40, so the percieved recoil wasn't fresh in my mind, but I do believe it made a difference. It also helped to have my father's XD40 (no aftermarket parts) on hand to compare to mine with the DGR and spring. It felt wonderful, and the recoil seemed less, and it was almost like shooting a different gun or caliber. Granted, they were just CCI Blazer Brass rounds that I was putting through it, not high velocity SD rounds, but I was pleased nonetheless. So, in short, I do believe that the DGR and spring improved the felt recoil, and only improved my love for the gun. Also, as a side note, double taps seemed easier to do with the new setup. I could stay on target better than I could before. Thanks Don! Matt |
