40 Ported - need to order, but have ?
Don, I have a .40 ported XD and want to order your guide rod. I've been reading through all these posts and have to admit I'm just a bit confused so I want to make sure I get this right the first time.
Can you tell me exactly what I need to order? Spring weight, the bushing (I"m unclear if I need or should get it), etc. Please let me know everything I need. Thanks. |

For the Service model (4" barrel) the rod comes with a bushing.
Some have had poor luck with heavy springs and the porting, as the slide slows down too much and you get stovepiping. So I think stay with the 18# rate which is the stock weight. So the only reason to do my rod in the ported is to go for the bling, and have a solid easy to clean rod that will not come apart on you. |

Thanks Don. I'll be ordering that when the folks at PistolGear come back from the holiday. Well, looks are enough for me at this point as I hate the way the stock rod looks. I'll give it a shot.
Happy Holidays. |
