At my door this afternoon, and I already have some sent PistolGear's way (more to follow on Thursday).
What is this "skinny" rod you ask? It will replace the fatter factory rod with a rod and bushing setup, that will let you use standard full-size 1911 springs. You can now tune the XD45 Tactical for lighter or heavier loads, with springs that are easily available. The stainless bushing has a shallow cup to contain the open spring end. The cup is not needed once the rod is in place, but it was near impossible to get the rod installed without this, so you get a cup. Weight of the rod and bushing combined is right at 1.5 oz/42.6 grams. The rod and bushing are stainless and should be run oiled. For those that helped with the R&D I will be sending you a new set shortly of this new stuff, and you can do whatever you wish with the prototypes. Thanks for the help! This bushing does not fit the .45 Service, sorry guys. That one is coming soon. |
