xd captive spring

Hi was thinking is there a way to just change the spring from a 18# to a 22# on the captive set up that comes with the xd. That way you don't have to worry about losing any parts when your out in the field and have to field strip for some reason.

Placed an order with Pistol Gear Wednesday night for DGR and 22# spring and an extra mag. It just arrived - on Saturday! Just watched the tutorial on Pistol Gears site and installed the rod first try.

Do have one question, there was two springs - the guide rod spring and a smaller spring - about 1/8" diameter about 2" long. Didnt see anything about this extra spring - any ideas?

This is going in a XD9 Service.

Q: What do I do with the small spring (firing pin spring) that I received with my Don's Guide Rod.
A: That spring is for a 1911 and is NOT compatible with the XD. You can either install it in a 1911 or throw it in the trash. Whatever you do, do NOT install it in a XD.

quick question about bushing installation

Firstly, another very satisfied customer of pistolgear. I will be purchasing from Scott again in the future.

I watched the video on the pistolgear website, but I didn't have sound, so I can't tell if this was specified. What direction should the lip on the bushing be facing? should I install that facing the front of the gun or the rear of the gun?

That's how I installed mine.. I just wanted to be sure. I'm going to be buying some ammo this weekend to test it out. Thanks for the quick response.
