Hey OS you could probably post this on PG for demo and to show those who only know of PG and not the forum how to do this properly. Plus I cant get the pictures to load here on the boat. I still cant wait to get home and put my DGR in.

I just got my DGR from Pistolgear for my 40 Service. I got the 22lb. spring. Outstanding service! Had it in hand, the second day after I ordered it!
It's a nice piece of hardware. Well finished. I can't wait to hit the range after work to try 'er out. It seems a lot of people put the recoil spring on backwards. Why doesn't Don put a little diagram in the package illustrating the proper direction? Seems to me it would save some grief on both ends of the equation. |

Mine won't go in like that. Funny, if I push the smaller end in from the front side it fits, but if I pull it through from the inside like it's meant to be, it will not fit in the hole.

jednp, try a bit of sandpaper to knock the edge a bit on the bushing, it will not take much at all. The fit is so good on some that unless it is aligned perfect it will not seem to start. If you can get it even half way started, it should seat itself all of the way after you fire it a couple of times. And then if it is that tight, just leave it in place, no need to take it out when cleaning.
Since you can get it in the wrong way, that tells us that it does fit, just patiently work at it. |

Hey Don, is this new bushing for the 9's too??? I want to try one of your rods, but I'm wondering what the actual performance difference is in the different Pounds... does the higher pound springs = less recoil??

Yes this bushing being discussed fits the 9mm Service
Think of the recoil as fixed if you will, and what you are changing is the period of time that you feel it. You can feel a short and sharp spike, or you can spread it out over time so it feels like more of a push. The heavier springs spread it out over time, the lighter springs will make a shorter/sharper spike. But if you using lighter loads, then the lighter springs will still let the slide work, which you can't always do with the stock spring. Personally I like on my .40 but am indifferent on my 9mm with factory loads. Some like it on their 9mm with the 22# spring, I can tell that it is different but I don't have a preference (sometimes I wonder if I am my own worst salesman |

Great photo's. My guide and spring just arrived today along with my trigger sear and My new Texas CHL License. Talk about a great day. Bit of a heads up. The rod and spring combo I ordered came with the correct bushing so you may not need to order it seperately. Not a big deal, so what, now I have a spare in case I need it. I''l be installing everything in the morning then headed to the range. Can't wait to find out the results. I have and 18# and 20# springs to try out. Unlike others, I must like to feel the recoil. LOL
