My question about the crossbreed

Is the kydex material harsh on the gun's finish? Everything I have read about the crossbreed I plan to get one when my concealed license comes in but, I don't know anything about Kydex and it looks like it might harm the finish over time. To me the pictures make it look like a hardened plastic that could damage the finish after rubbing it over time.

Great holster, but yeah, that's one reason why I sold it and moved on to Highnoon. The kydex on the crossbreed marred my XDs stainless slide.

I've been shooting my XD9 Service in IDPA using my Crossbreed Supertuck. It seems the side that's against the leather is showing more wear than the side against the Kydex.

A little holster wear on a gun shows it's not a safe queen.

your gun CAN still save your life with a little wear on the slide. ive been concealing mine in many different holsters over a couple of years now, and it does show a little wear, but i think it looks better that way. it shows character.

but i used to be like you; if the gun got dirty i would instantly clean it. i allways set it down softly etc etc... but over time you will learn that its not a big deal.

Kydex will wear the finish on your barrel, but for a carry gun I could care less personally. I carry my XD9SC in a CrossBreed SuperTuck and am very pleased with it.

Thanks for the replies I'm not too terribly paranoid, I know with use its going to show wear but I didn't know if the kydex material was overly harsh. The pics show it to be poris and unsmooth I don't know how smooth the inside is but didn't want to be rubbing my gun against the equivalent of sandpaper every draw.

If I'm not mistaken the "poris" outide finish is only on the outside of the kydex. The inside has a smooth finish.
