My Crossbreed Problem

I bought one for my XD and received it 2 weeks ago. While I agree it is comfortable at 4:00 (not in the car), wearing it makes me look like I have a growth on my hip and I'm not comfortable enough with its concealability to wear in public yet. I've got the clips set on the lowest setting to get the kydex higher up on the belt so the grip is in my back, any lower and it looks like I've got a gun in my pants. I don't wear my pants tight and when wearing it around the house I'll poof my shirt out a little to make it a little more inconspicuous, still not 100% on its concealability in public.

Where/how do you all wear it so that it disappears?

I think it is important to note that your body structure really is a large factor when determining how and where you are able to conceal your weapon. I have a very slim figure and I find everything I've tried so far, even pocket carry to be a bit "bulky".

Try it in different positions - 2 oclock and 5 oclock. Also, try with untucked shirt (that's my preference anyway).

Is it only when you're wearing spandex?

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA ...... I almost died reading that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have a slim build and a supertuck. I too find it hard to conceal my xd9sc unless I'm wearing multiple layers of clothes.... and that ain't happening in the summer.

I have found that tucking only works well with very small guns. XDs are too thick.

That said, I have no trouble hiding my XD with my SuperTuck. I typically wear a tucked in T-Shirt with an open, untucked Hawaiian on top. This looks nice, blends in just fine in Florida, offers ready access to the gun and eliminates any printing issues. It also makes it possible to carry a full-sized gun. I carried my XD-40 Service for almost a year before adding an XD-40 SC to the mix and I have never been made.

Untucked square-cut shirts like Hawaiians also work find when buttoned if they are not too tight. In colder weather, I can easily hide the gun under a light jacket or coat. Concealment is not a problem very often, but when it is, I carry a Kahr P9 Covert in a pocket holster.

I don't really have problems concealing when my shirt is untucked. However, I've yet to really pull off the tucked shirt look. I think the XD is too thick to carry IWB with your shirt tucked, unless you carry around 5:00. Even then, it's probably somewhat noticeable. I think I'm just going to have to settle for something smaller, if I want to carry with my shirt tucked.

Any IWB holster is going to "bulge" to some degree, more or less depending on your body. I have certain pants and shirts that work well with my SuperTuck, and some that don't work.

If anyone really looks hard, they are going to notice some bulge no matter what the holster. However, I don't believe most are going to think "GUN"!!

My XD9 Service is harder to conceal during warmer weather, so now I'm mainly carrying my XD .40 Subcompact. Today I left work early and rode the Harley for a few hours, wore my .40 with an OWB holster under an untucked shirt. Different times call for different methods.

It ain't a perfect world, especially in warm weather.

BTW, I wear mine at 5 to 5:30ish....makes my butt look fuller and more appealing to the ladies!!!

Due to my delicious love handles IWB carry might be a little uncomfortable.. So i think im going to go wih OWB, i never wear tucked in shirts so the print wont be that intense.. either way, in PA OC is legal so as long as i have my LCTF if it happens to show im covered
