Wearing CBST with no gun
Is this ok to do? I know I know...you're thinking "why would anyone do that?"
Here is my thinking....the fam and I are going to the beach this weekend and it's about a 2.5 hour drive. I'm thinking if I sit with the weapon in the CBST the whole time I'm going to be real uncomfortable. But having to adjust the CBST inside my pants seems like a social nightmare if we stop at a rest area or something. What I want to do is keep my XD9 Service in the console and just wear my CBST. Then if we stop I just holster the weapon.
Is this ok?? Is wearing the CBST without a weapon going to hurt anything (Kydex etc.) Thanks!

I know if wearing the CBST with out a gun will cause a rip in the space time continuum. If this happens Left Wing & Right Wing & Progressives will agree on everything. Obama will make Sainthood and Mexico will become the new Super Power and leader of the free world Plus Islam will take over the Vatican and the new Pope will be Allah. Israel will be the next Disney Theme Park. Be careful and holster your gun.
Really I have never found the CBST to be a issue while driving. I use them for my XD 45 or my Glock 26. I have worn mine over 14 hrs at a time. Your body heat could distort the Kydex with no gun in it in the long term.

A) You will probably find it plenty comfortable even while driving, give it a try
B) Wearing a CrossBreed with no gun in it for extended periods, especially while leaning back against it (such as while driving) can cause premature stress of the kydex scabbard.

I wear my supertuck for roughly 10 hours a day nearly every day, much of which is spent sitting (desk job). I describe my holster as having "all day comfort" since it is so comfortable I almost forget I have 19 rounds of 9mm on my left hip (almost). I've also driven for decently long trips without any problem.
Unless your car has bucket seats with thick side padding (sport seats in particular) you ought to be comfortable driving for a while.

what if it does?? taking my ccw class in a few weeks and planning on a supertuck for my xdsc. I've got a BMW M3 and the bolsters on the seats are definitely aggressive. You can inflate/deflate them to an extent, but you definitely want to be snug in that seat. Thanks.

I hate to point out the obvious, but I would say deflate them to the lowest setting and see how that works. If its not comfortable then you will have to rough it and not wear it for the driving portion of your day.

In my 4Runner it's great to keep pistol in while driving, in my wife's Passat it's okay, in my S4 it sucks. I'd set that M3 seat on "big boy" and give it a shot, good luck- I think you'll need it..

Personally, I've never had a problem with this in anything I drive.
Charger Daytona=bolsters
Porshce 911 Turbo=bolsters
Keep your gun about 3:30 or 4:00 and you should be OK, although obviously everyone won't be the same.
If it does bug you, add cant or move it forward or back a bit.
And I'm not a skinny guy either, I run 5'9" and 205-215
(holidays ya know! )

I carry my XD-40 service everywhere I go, and find driving with it, even on long distances, is no problem.
But, there certainly are instances where I find the need to unholster. For instance, going into the Post Office, or if I may have a beer with dinner while eating out. I try to minimize the time I wear the holster empty, but so far no problem.
