old customer moved on......plastic clips break

i got an SOB back in 05 and also one for my son.

the belt clip broke after a year or two; i sent it back 'free repair.'

about a year later the clip broke again. i figured it was time to move on.....

so i bought a split decision from highnoon and like the strong side carry much better and no plastic clips to break!

If you like the strong side carry, you may consider giving Mark another chance as the SuperTuck now comes with steel clips.

I've heard many good things about the steel clips and will be ordering some for my supertuck soon.

EVERYTHING in this world breaks at some point. What you should have considered is Mark gave you good customer service, whereas MANY (not all) holster makers give you a very limited warranty and after that you're screwed.

yeah, i just wrote mark and asked if my SOB could be repaired with the steel clip up grade.

even though the SOB was purchased with the C.B. life time warrenty i was a little embarressed to send it in after the second failure.

i use the SOB mostly when on two wheels.

the S.T. is about $15.00 more then the split decision.....i'll wait and see...

thanks for the idea.

a little nerve there fella.........?

i didn't state a negative on marks customer service.
my post implied that the follow up repair was acceptable.
i believe the plastic clips ..an inherit weakness in the over all design was the main point addressed.....

normally i don't respond to creature comments like yours i find it much more rewarding to simply ignore the message and it's creator.... guess i'm just getting intolerant .........

cheers,

i think i'll stay

Marks been selling the holsters with metal clips for months now. Heck, I bent up the metal clips on my holsters and couldn't get them to bend back so I emailed Mark and he sent me some new ones....FREE.

You obviously didn't "move on" because you posted here Mark will hook you up.

If you can find a better product...BUY IT. (you can't)

And here is a copy of our email discussion regarding the issue, thought it might clear things up a bit, it's in reverse order since I just cut and pasted it.

copy follows.........

Not sure where you heard our warranty does not apply but that's hooey. We don't make the SOBs anymore but we'll still fix yours

Don't have metal clips for it though, we'll just have to put another kydex one on, BUT we CAN use a thicker/stronger grade of kydex for it this time

Send it in and we'll fix it up

thanks

i am told you now offer steel clips. i would''ve done this myself without bothering you but can''t find the clips anywhere even tandy leather was a no-go.

No nerve at all, but someone who comes on and complains about breaking a product before even attempting to contact said supplier is pure hooey, as Mark puts it. You were stating a negative review on the product without even looking into further help. THat's what gets me...
