I am not religious. I guess you could call me agnostic, but I don't classify myself as such. It's really just a matter of not feeling a need to have all the "big questions" answered. I don't really care why I'm here on Earth. I don't go to sleep at night wondering why I'm here, or why things happen the way they do. I can accept not knowing any of that, and as such I don't need a religious belief to fill in any voids.

I'm a Christian. I was saved when i was a teen - after royally messing up my life, and my parents life. I'm currently a member of a Southern Baptist church, although I don't agree with *some* of their "end times" beliefs, but that doesn't matter to me, what happens will happen - it's God's will that it be done, and there is nothing that I can do to change it - just be ready for the second coming of Christ!
My father is my spiritual role model. He has been a constant christian giant, and maybe one day, I can be like him - I have a lot of habits that I have a hard time letting go, even though I know they are sinful in nature (language being the biggest one) Quite honestly, I want to be more Christ-like, but for some reason, I keep stopping myself... I have a lot of growing to do.
I thank God that I have GREAT christian friends, a great Sunday School group, and a Christian wife as well. Without them, my life would be... well, not what it should be.
mtcragco, congrats on your Karma, and this is a GREAT way to hold a "contest" I think any reason to share one's faith is a good one.

i am agnostic, i cant say there is a god but i cant say there isnt one either.
personally its like 95% no god to 5% god
im a man of science and there just is no proof of god and i am not going to live my life on a set of orbitrary rules set by humans. if there is a god i seriously doubt he wants to be worshiped. if there is a god i belive all he did was he "got the ball rolling" and has no influence on daily life.

I am a Roman Catholic, have been all my life, and don't ever plan to change. My parents were both immigrants to this country, my mom is from Italy and my dad is from Hungary, and they came over separately in the '50s. They met in 1975 on a blind date (master plan, divine intervention?) and got married 2 years later. They taught my sister and I about our faith, took us to church, encouraged us to join youth group, and did what every parent who is a believer did to make sure their son or daughter come to realize the importance of God.
Flash forward to October 25, 2007. My wife of 4 year was 8 months pregnant and had an OB check up and we found out our little baby was in distress. I happened to be in another part of Michigan (we have since moved) 45 min away taking my final licensing exam, and just as I finished and aced it my wife called with the news. I drove like a bat out of hell to get to her and then got her to the hospital. In 75 min my wife had her C-section and our beautiful boy was born, with a true knot in his umbilical cord. Junior though would end up spending 10 days in the ICU stepdown nursery because of bad lungs, and my wife and I spent every available minute at his bedside praying and hoping for him to get better. I would like to think our prayers were answered with His hand guiding the doctors and nurses as he did get stronger, was able to breath without extra oxygen after 8 days and finally came home after 10 days, smallest little peanut anyone could remember seeing for a long time. During those 10 days our faith was tested, as how could God do this to a little life, our son. But I've come to realize that He doesn't allow this things to happen on a role of the dice or as a game, He does it to help teach us the meaning of life, to bring families together and to help heal wounds that were opened a long time ago. My wife and I look at our son as our sweet, perfect, happy little spitfire, and a constant reminder that things this beautiful don't need a scientific answer, they just are, and that is enough for me.

Interesting Topic
I am 27 and have lived in Indiana my whole life. I was raised catholic by my parents. I have done the sacrements such as baptism, eucharist, reconcilliation, and confirmation. I have since not been very active in the Catholic church. When I got older I learned about the history of the Catholic church and how it was used as a tool of oppression by the King for a great long time. I don't blame current day Catholics for the sins of the past, but it has really turned me off on being associated with them.
I attended a Baptist church for a while when I was in my early 20's. It was a huge church and seated over 5k for the sunday gathering. It was very interesting and a stark difference from the church I was raised in. I considered making a permanent switch until one day I heard something that left me feeling sour. They said that all Catholics go to hell. They said that they go to hell because they did not completly submerge themselves for baptism and because they prayed to saints other then jesus. One day a jerk passed out little pamphlets that said the same. They even passed out pamphlets that said people part of groups such as the NRA, Stone Masons, or bowling leagues were going to hell because the only group you should belong to is the church.
The main reason I have fallen by the wayside is because I am not sure which path is correct yet. I am still young and I don't know what is right. You see so many people trying to pull you into their faith. They are all very similiar but so different in many ways. I don't think any of them are purfect and we all need to learn to accept other people's point of view.
So, in summation I am christian, I do not follow any certain sect, and I am still searching for the path.
(Please disregard any bad talking I may have done in this post. Feel free to edit if I were too negative towards any faith)

Well as you can see this is my first post to this forum. I have spent the last month reading all these posts trying to figure out which gun I wanted, which one is the best. Well after a month I have decided on the XD 9 mm sub compact. Went out to the local gun store and they where out. So I went a head and had them order it for me. I will be taking my CHL class on the 7th of February. So I don’t even have my first gun yet.
Well enough about that. As I said I have spent a month looking around this forum. Knowing I really had nothing to add to it until this thread started. So here it goes.
Born and raised Catholic. Was at church every Sunday and CCD every Wednesday because that’s what Mom wanted. Went through the motions but never really had a relationship with God. I married a Catholic school teacher and found myself back in church every Sunday, this time because it was what the Wife wanted. Seven years after I was married my wife and I had our first and only child. The first year was great I had a boy, we where going to all the cool stuff together. At 14 months my son was diagnosed with SMA. He has been in a wheelchair every since. That is when God and I went our separate ways. Still went to church, because that’s what the wife wanted and had to show my son the way into the church. But I was just there to follow the motions, not live the life. That was until last year, I went on my first Men’s ACTS retreat. I spent four days with out a watch, phone or TV. Under standing that the lord was looking for a relationship with me. Surrounded by guys, who just wanted to help. I came back to the Lord over those four days. In May I will part of the team that will help other men find there way back to the Lord.
Thanks for letting me share
My god bless.

Position:
Can't say that I'm a religious person myself.
Support:
I didn't grow up in a religious house. When I was in high school my dad went to church with a neighbor and asked me to go. I started going for a little when I was at his house. Then we hit some hard times. Ended up losing the house my dad poured every dime into and had to start all over with nothing. I know there's tests and all that, but I think that's a pretty messed up test to do in a month or so.
I married into a heavily religious family (LDS). A bunch of times I see things that just don't add up to me. I'm sorry, but to me it appears as though the church here will do anything if it benefits them, but once it may benefit you they put the kabosh on it.
I think this sums it up very well:

The Lord Jesus Christ is my savior! Without him I would not be where I am today and with whom I'm with today.
My father passed away when I was very young and grew up with a single mom and 3 siblings. I was raised by the streets and those who roam it.
Throughout life I almost took some very wrong paths but with the Lords guidance I turned away when I needed too. Ive seen people I cared for take the wrong path and end up in prison or dead.
He gave his life for me and it would be unfair if I wasted mine unable to follow. He gives me the strength to support my family, the knowledge to make wise decisions and have the faith and drive to go forward and lead a loving family and successful career.
Real men love Jesus!

I am actually agnostic. I believe that their is a higher power, but I don't think that it is up to everyday people to try to label it ...one way or another.
Thanks for being so generous Mark you a are a great guy and great addition to this forum. Thanks for all the business I have done with you.

That pretty much covers it for me too. I try to live my life right and do the right thing to help others when I can. I don't expect others to do the same, but I appreciate when they do. I think there is a lot of people that try to purge their guilt for all of their wrong doings by participating in religious activites. Hypocrites annoy me.
