Kershaw Blur
Got my Kershaw Blur w/ the black partial serrated blade today. Have to get used to the open-assist (dang near cut my thumb off the first time). Love the texture of the handle, really a great grip.

I've carried one for about 3 years now. First was a partial serr tanto, the new one is a plain edge drop point.
I much prefer the plain edge drop point, it's easy to sharpen and don't have to worry about breaking off teeth.

I've been thinking about picking up a Blur .
I seem to remember that someone said the ones sold on Amazon were a bit different , not quite the same quality .
Anyone know if this is true ( or not ) ??

Yea thats right its a different steel type i bought 2 from amazon for $31 its the 420H. Still great value for $30.
I like em alot super sharp + the assisted opening makes the knife a freakin auto knife.
Only problem i have is the thumb stud is very sharp and sticks out very far if you have the blur in any pocket of your pants and are trying to reach in for something like your wallet, keys, money what ever you are going to hurt your hand very bad by the thum stud. Also if you brush up agains things such as a car or wall u are going to put a very deep scratch in it!

Not true. They offer both. The cheaper one of course is not as good but still well worth $30...and more.
The 420HC steel of the cheaper Blur is surely not as good as the Sandvik 14c28n.

Once you learned how to do it right (push forward and not towards the swing)...it will deploy super fast. Your finger doesn't have to follow the blade as well...just let it push and keep it in contact with the handle.

I wouldn't say good/bad blade but good/better blade. Some people make 420HC out to be a horrible steel but it's really not. Easy to sharpen, holds an edge well and priced good. What's not to like? Are there better knives, hell yes. But I'd rather carry a $30 knife vs a $100-200 knife when it can possibly be lost or abused.
FWIW I have both the 420HC and 14C28N in Blur. A Blackout in 440A. A Leek in 13C26 and one in 14C28N. All have been very nice knives.
