Benchmade all the way for me. They are expensive but worth it IMO. If you end up with a linear locking knife do yourself a favor and inspect the actual locking mechanism. Make sure the linear is THICK and it goes all the way to the other side of the blade. I almost lost a finger using a Smith and wesson SWAT or tactical. Whatever they are called. The linear lock system is crap unless it is a quality knife nothing cheap or junk. The frame lock I do not like due to you squeezing the frame when it's is use. I prefer the AXIS lock from benchmade. It is very strong and incredibly fast. I would find something you really enjoy and get it. There really isn't a need to go cheap if you want quality. I learned this from a guy at a cabellas. He asked the gun bar to remove all the prices from the guns. He then spent a few hours choosing his carry piece. He went on pure feelings and what he wanted and liked. He also ended up with a 1200 buck custom carry kimber but he got what he wanted. I use this method and it seems to make me enjoy things more knowing that I got what I wanted and not what I could afford.
