How often do you train 1 handed or weak hand?

This always seems to sneak up on me in a competition. I am not good at shooting single handed and really bad at weak hand. I really hate when I'm doing decent and one of these stages pops up.

What do you do to train single or weak handed shooting? What has helped the most. Tips or tricks?

So far I'll turn the gun about 45 degrees maybe slightly less and make a fist with my non firing hand and apply pressure with my knuckles into my firing shoulder. Anything else I can do to get my gun back on target for faster follow up shots?

Practice makes perfect.

Every time I go to the range (at least 2-3 times a week) I'll run at least a mag through my gun weak hand only. The turned at a 45 degree angle helps me with recoil and keeping my hand on my chest also helps staying on target.

Other than that I can't offer any tips other than practice it often as the thing that tripped me up was how awkward it felt at first. Now that I've got plenty of practice in it feels much more natural.

+1, although I don't get to the range more than once a week, I usually run 1 mag with my strong hand only and 1 mag with my week hand only. In addition to turning the gun in slightly, I turn my shooting shoulder in slightly and pull my chin into the shoulder, a bit. I still suck with my week hand, but it does help a lot with one hand shooting with my strong hand.

Every range trip, I will spend as much time with single hand / single hand weak hand as I do with two hand and strong hand. As mentioned.... practice.

Also, if it's something you are serious about, you may want to get a set of 5 - 8 lb dumb bells and do some wrist / forearm exercises as well as "finger curls." Helps to make your muscles strong enough to compliment the better skills you will develop. No, you don't need to be Stalone or Arnold... but the extra strength will help.

I practise for

self defense only. Half the time one handed. 1 mag with the weak hand.

Not often enough...about 2-3 times a month.

Looking at my training logs for the past few months, I can say I practice SHO & WHO once a week in dry fire and once a week in live fire, as a minimum.

Everytime I'm at the range I practice weak hand shooting. I actually enjoy when these come up in IDPA because I seem to do better than most. I don't have any other tips than what you are doing already, just more practice.
