Ive got 4 of the mid week 4 day defensive handgun courses that don't expire. The only problem is I live in IL, and can't afford to get out there for a week.

I just bought the diamond membership with Alaska option for $250. Frontsight was allowing members with Diamond memberships to purchase additional ones for friends and family. It also transfers any options they have such as the Alaska option.

I am looking to do my first course with them this summer.

Good for you! The Front Sight experience is great, and I hope you get as much out of it as I have gotten. I try to avoid the heat of the summer and go in the spring/fall. I am going in about a week (2 week of April) for my second 4 day defensive handgun class. Last time I rented an XD, but this time my XD 9 and 300 rounds are coming with me to cut down on total cost of the trip. I am in California and the airline tickets are dirt cheap if you get the right southwest or virgin deal. Now if I can only get my girlfriend to come along.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard "last chance offer to buy a ______membership from FS" I'd be a rich man. Don't get me wrong it is a great school and I highly recommend any or all of their courses but Piazza is an annoying SOB sometimes. If you think you can attend any of their courses even just a couple of times in a 2 to 3 year period then it's worth the $500 bucks. However, I know guys who paid $2500 for a membership and have only attended a few classes. Plus before they will let you continue in the advanced courses you have to pass their proficiency test with 90% and above which less than half ever do.

They have officially stopped selling memberships as of this year. Only they will sell will be the ones people quit paying on.

I think the proficiency test is a very good idea. If you can't pass with the basics then you shouldn't move on.

Agreed but it's just something to think about assume you might be having to take the same class two to three times before moving on. If you can only attend one or two classes a year then that first year you might be taking the same classes over again.

This is my first post on the forum so I know I'm inherently untrustworthy , so I will readily admit that while I am a new XD owner, that's really a coincidence and I signed up specifically to post on this thread. My husband and I upgraded to diamond and have a couple extra diamonds to sell now. One of their requirements is people don't advertise in social media to sell memberships, so this is why people seem so shady about selling them. I can say that I have been though, and it was a great training experience, it's just the rest of the time that all the marketing hype is annoying. If anyone on here is still looking, please PM me.
