Sorry; looking for some type of target engagement while carrying stuff. I need to submit paperwork for my CCW, & I know that I definitely need work with accuracy/drawing/firing-while-moving/etc. Basic tactics training is also a plus.
I'm already a member of a gun club & can go to the range when I have the time/ammo, but don't really have the grand+ to fly to GunSite or something of that nature. Really looking for something at least somewhat local where I could take my wife or father-in-law.

It is not exactly training but IDPA covers the shooting while moving and reloads etc. It is a fun activity with other like minded people. One of them might know of training close. Here is a list of clubs in KY.

Don't know where you are in Kentucky, but there is training available around Louisville at Knob Creek, however I highly recommend 'that facility outside cincy'.
The place is called Tactical Defense Institute and I've attended several classes there. I'm taking their defensive knife and active shooter classes this year. Top notch instruction. If I were you, I'd look into their 3 day Handgun 1-3 weekends. I did one of those initially and put over 1700 rds downrange in 3 days. They teach you in steps and then grille it into you through repetition and lots of trigger time.

There's plenty of great training to be had in and around central kentucky but like a previous poster suggested I would look into attending a few IDPA matches. While you cannot take them as real life tactical training you will meet many military/law enforcement/informed citizens that will be happy to show you the ropes and help you draw from a holster and work on reloads.
I go out to the bluegrass sportsmen's league for IDPA and I swear to you it's an absolute blast!

Go to Open range in Louisville ky. Its a great place and one of the BEST looking ranges I have EVER shot at. They have been nationaly rated a 5 star range.( the ONLY one in Ky by the way) Hundred yard range, 11k square foot paintball arena, 2 seperate pistol ranges, and its all indoors. Its truly a pro range/shop all the way. $85 gets you the class, range time, and personal one to one help on any questions you have.
Link #8 has the listing of them being a nationaly ranked 5 star range, and link to the page

Some people argue against a 9mm. Oddly enough, I haven't found a single person so far who is SO unimpressed with the stopping power of a 9mm, that he is willing to stand downrange and catch one fired out of my XDM.

I don't know what other trainers do, but these guys are all highly trained folks, ALL with past military experience. The guy who runs it is 15 years SF, and a great (and FUN) guy to work with. Very informative and a blast to train with.
A friend out here went to both him and another trainer out of BGSL and is sticking with Velocity.
Give them a call at the very least if you're nearby.
