CCW curiosity and etiquette

I have this acquaintance (husband of a friend of my wife), who I think carries all the time. I've never caught him printing. I told my wife I think so-and-so's packing, and she thinks I'm nuts. At first I pointed out that I had never seen him not wearing a sport coat. Then last weekend, we met them for a casual dinner. No jacket, but he was wearing a loose polo shirt untucked. See, I said to Mrs 5207.

I don't know the guy very well, just see him at parties and such a couple of times a year. What's the polite way to ask? Or should I just stifle my curiosity?

I don't care that he's black. I hate him because he's Red.

The guy who thinks he's the smartest one in the room never is.

Some people are touchy about others knowing they carry but size him up and if you think it's a good idea just ask him. If it were me, I wouldn't care if I was asked. It's not a big secret.

If you're really that curious, ask him along on your next trip to the range. If he's already a shooter (and packing) it'll be easy to compare carry methods with a kindred spirit. If you're just imagining things, you might introduce a new future gun nut to the addiction.

+1 on the range trip invite!

When he shows up with his pistol casually ask if he carries it!

Should be an easy conversation once you know the guy a little. Just start talking about shooting and what YOU carry.

You could always ask him if he knows what it takes to get a ccw permit.

I'd give him a pat down... haha, in all seriousness like DTE mentioned, ask him to go to the shooting range.
