I am a little "weight challenged" jeans and a belt aren't my #1 choice at this point in time . A shoulder holster would work, but impraticle in a lot of situations.

So to CC I looked at deep cover setup..

I just ordered one of these for my new XDS - should get it in a couple weeks. I think it will work great and allow me to find a comfortable position with my "condition"

3 Speed Holster

Can anyone suggest a good ccw holster that allows you to reholster quickly so you don't have to worry about retaining your weapon if you end up trying to detain someone and not using it?

Thread jack! LOL. As already stated, CBSTs are great and will allow you to reholster easily. A good belt ads to retention.

I also have a iwb hybrid from extremeconcealmentsystems.com. It too is a fantastic holster and very well made. I'd recommend them also, maybe even above my CBST...but they are both quality choices.

Here's my ECS set up.

Crossbreed super tuck deluxe. My daily CCW is an XDSC 9, and it is comfortable, easy to holster/unholster. They have a strong reputation for good reason. You can't beat the quality and design!

+1 on the Crossbreed. Just got mine last week for my XD9 SC. It's really comfortable and conceals well. The 2 widely spaced clips help to distribute the weight of the gun on my belt a lot better than the single clip of my BlackHawk IWB holster. My new XD9 full size also fits in it very well.

I carry a full size 1911 in a Galco Concealable. To me, leather (high quality leather) is the only way to go.

I would guess that most stores in IL are still cautiously considering stocking up on IWB concealment holsters, so trying them out is probably tough. I like my crossbreed but do your homework. I have a Galco King Tuk for a revolver that I like too. Youtube is nice to see your options in use. Best of luck to you and all of IL.

Thread jack..

NEVER get that close with a weapon. If he is shot then he is down, leave him there or have someone else attend to him. If he IS NOT shot, then he is only waiting until you are close enough..

But i use a Blackhawk SERPA at work. Reholster is basicaly gravity and defending the weapon only means cover the button.

..carry on
