Just an update from the tampa office, applied on the 11th and mine came in late last week, less than 15 days. Not too shabby... Looking forward to the next gun show now

Well I'm very happy to conclude this thread by finally saying 2 days shy of a full 4 months. I HAVE IN HAND MY PERMIT!
From now on I'll recommend all of my friends do it through a regional office as well as my parents and girlfriend when they get around to theirs because this was absolutely ridiculous.

Up in Iowa I took my class on Monday ($30), turned in my application on Wednesday ($50) and got my permit on Saturday. The law actually says they have to respond within 30 days. Sorry to hear about all your difficulties...

Talk to an operator and they can give you your tracking number and you can put it into the automated system to find out what stage of the process your license is in.
Edit- this may be because I'm a veteran and submitted my DD-214 as my training, and have no criminal record whatsoever. Idk of it takes longer if they have to verify your training certification.

I had a similar experience. I think doing it at the regional office just makes the process faster. I am 21 and had to go to a class. Went on the 14th, issued on the 17th and received it on the 23rd.

This is for FL residents only! Nonresidents takes a lot longer (3 to 4 months).

Sending mine in tomorrow from Ohio, the local Sheriff that did my prints today said I was the 19th person he had printed for the FL CCW this week. I come back from Afghanistan April 4th, hope it is waiting on me when I get back. We will see. Got a feeling they are really backed up right now but at least I will be covered in 35 states.
