You should check out the map features at handgunlaw.us or usacarry.com that will show you what your permit plus additional ones cover.

I got my Florida nonresident a year ago...took 6 weeks. Just got my Arizona...two weeks. I picked up the Arizona because it added Wisconsin. Plus Arizona is a lot cheaper.

Therefore, if you are looking for a non-resident CHL, look elsewhere. I am already looking into scheduling my Texas resident CHL which I should have done from the very start.....
Oh, and BTW....I'm a newbie here!

Being a FL resident myself all I hear is 4-5 weeks for the permit to be issued if done with electronic finger prints, and 90 days if not. With that being said, It's been exactly 5 weeks since I mailed out my application (10/12) and still no permit...

Update: I received a letter from the FL CHL office stating an issue with readability of my NRA certificate. I called them the following day, and spoke with a really nice gal. They couldn't read the instructor's signature. Long story short, we got it sorted. I discovered that they have had a recent surge in false documentation for non-resident applications.
As a side note, I have seen posts about yelling at those who work in CHL licensing offices. Anyone who is considering doing so, I would rethink it. The lady I got had a person before me screaming at her. I, however, was polite, charming, and humorous, as well as sympathetic. As a result, my application went from suspended, to approved, to processed in one call. The woman actually thanked me for making her laugh and her day. I will now have my CHL next week.

Glad to hear it didn't take you too long. I'm considering getting a FL non-resident CWP if I end up moving there for a 6 month internship. But that won't be for a while so I have more than enough time.

If it's the Disney internship... good luck (if not ignore everything after this). They pay horribly, but my buddy said he had fun. I was signed up for it and had to back out of it at the last minute. Couldn't afford to work there for such low hourly rate. My buddy ended up coming back home with a g/f and a few years later they are still together; even after graduation.

No. Thanks for the heads up though. I'd be working at a golf course.

Good to know about the update with the running time for Arizona. I'm just about to send my stuff off. Probably tomorrow actually. I got the Florida one in August. It made sense to get it with out of state travel. I didn't want to get the Arizona one. But now I do. The fact is when you keep thinking about it with regards to the states honoring the permit from here (AZ) vs. a Florida non-resident one, it's impossible to ignore that while you drop one state, Washington, you gain a couple standardly, and you gain a few others due to some states honoring a resident permit from AZ, instead of an out of state issued one. For instance, there is New Hampshire, S. Carolina, Michigan, Colorado, all honoring a resident AZ permit instead of an out of state permit.
At this point I wished I would of not bought the Florida permit. Might of used that 117 dollars for something else!

I have all my paperwork for my non-resident FL permit. My question is will they accept that I have had my concealed permit for Maine for almost 20 years in lieu of a Class???
Thanks!
