Shooting in Colorado Movie Theatre

Sadly this morning a gunman open fired in a crowded theater, killing 15 wounding as many as 50. Not to many facts have sprouted other than a man in his twenties was armed with a assault gun (possibly fully automatic) and a handgun. He set of explosions of tear gas and walked from the screen up the walk way randomly shooting people.

Condolences to the family's. I got in from work and told my wife, ironically we were at the movies a couple days ago (rear for me) and I was legally carrying.I explained to her why I prefer the back Isle for a slight advantage in a dark room. It has turned into habit now. She questioned if I thought I could have stopped the attacker and of course there is no way of knowing but I thought there should have been one law abiding citzen in that theater packing. Ideally there should have been a theater full of law abiding citizens packing(trained of course). That should be the moral of the story this morning. Don't leave your guns at the house. The evil and violent certainly don't!! God bless

Don't call it an assault gun please. Secondly, in a situation like that, even a carrying citizen might not be able to do anything (but certainly nothing if you werent). That's a pretty brutal attack.

This was almost certainly a situation where engaging the shooter would have been a horrible move unless you were cornered and had no other recourse.

HMMM hard to determine that one without being their. Also I wonder how much his body armor would absorb say a 9,40,45. Maybe enough,
who knows. What is amazing is he was suited up to shoot unarmed civilians yet the coward didn't apparently resist the police(thankfully).

Makes me wonder if someone hitting him a couple times wouldn't first of all distract or disorient him, throw him off his game. "Hey, someone's shooting at me, that can't be right". Would this fellow, who is at heart a coward, have possibly retreated if met with resistance?

Regardless of how armored up he was (and there are conflicting reports on that issue now) his face was still a soft target.

There is no "Common Sense Gun Regulation". There is only unconstitutional gun restriction.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
