as a kid i didn't even know the phrase "anti gun" or such; i had no idea anything of the sort was even a controversy. and being a naive kid i basically thought all "news" was pretty much trying to tell the public the truth, so i believed what i saw, and did not study any of it.
then i saw the early days of Reagan's presidency and consistently saw sam donaldson attack the guy verbally, donadlson was a real p.r.k. and it got me wondering what's the deal here, why isn't this "reporter" simply trying to get the truth out of the president. it's not like this was a 60 minutes story of some coverup or heinous activity. i was probably 17-ish i think?
it was a few years later i graduated college and got my own place, my first goal all along was to pick out a gun for home defense, just as my Dad always had that one gun. so i read articles on guns and began to learn so much more than just what gun is good to have, but all the history of 2A, self-defense, etc. etc.
So along with studying guns themselves, i studied gun rights,
and it wasn't long before i saw how ALL the media i knew of at that time (before fox existed), had intentionally buried and squelched virtually ever "good" gun story - where an armed civilian saved their own life. i never new so many such stories existed, it was a revelation.
now i knew what media to trust and not, at least on the topic of guns and personal rights / safety. like GM not doing a recall on their pickup truck gas tanks placed OUTside the frame on the side, and similar issue with ford pintos getting rear-ended. squelch the truth, intentionally. that's heinous.
fox isn't without bias, they swing right; but they're the only large media org i've yet seen who is even willing to post "good guy" stories of gun use.
if cnn is more strongly anti-gun , anti-2A than i am aware then i am eager to learn; i'll keep my eyes peeled. i will take my time and energy to research it; unlike 3 in another thread i don't demand anyone do my work for me, just post an opinion and i'll do the work to study it. that's how i operate.

Thanks for the responses!
