Red Dot Sight
I was reading an article (I will have to double check the magazine) and it was saying that more people are starting to use the red dot sights on their ccw. It's providing people with quick target aquisition without having to rely on the iron sights. Has anyone heard of anybody using red dot sights on their pistols?

Have heard of some 1911's, Glocks and XD/XDM's with red dots... but for CCW, it would end up being a whole more "stuff" that has to be concealed. If you can do it, great... but depending on how deep you have to conceal, it may not be practical IMO.

I couldn't imagine having a CCW with a red dot on top.

There are a few guys Ive heard of with RMR'd glocks etc. I just dont get it. In my mind if you arent proficient enough with irons at self defense distances you probably should re-think carrying in the first place IMHO.

The article i read in fact was a red dot on top of the firearm and I too thought it would just be one more thing to hide.

Not on a CCW.
I wouldn't advise it as it adds weight and bulk to your CCW.
I did think about getting a red dot sight but that would be for my 22lr pistol. It is a "range only" pistol and not my "go to" pistol.
