I was trying to picture what was being described, looking like a knife or multitool pouch, but couldn't put together a full size magazine and either pouch type. Now I see, and it's bad, that looks completely out of place but, it does make me want to check if my actual leatherman pouch will hold an LCP magazine.

That seems like a better option for me.
I'd prob need it so if before I got off my 1-2 shots I hit the mag release bottom instead of the trigger I could reload while the bag guy wet himself laughing at me....

I agree, two is a bit much. I just tried this today to see how it worked. But, for $10 if you just use 1 pouch, it looks like a multi tool instead of another 13rnds of 45ACP! AND, it helps balance the weight of the XD45T on the other side!

I have been carrying 2 spare mags on my for a while now and it really hasn't been much of a problem. The thing is that when you conceal properly, no one will know what you have on your belt unless they are looking for it. A cop buddy of mine was open carrying his Glock one day and when we went to watch the Avengers, he tucked his t shirt over it and it made the most obvious bulge and a guy working there asked if he was a cop because they "aren't supposed to allow weapons in the theaters". Buddy saids yes and the guy leaves but the funniest part is he overheard a couple of guys behind him notice the bulge and seriously thought he had a huge freaking cellphone and I laughed my ass off.
So really, it's up to you if you want to carry one or more mag on you. You just need to dress to it and make sure it hides well enough.
My buddy doesn't carry spare mags off duty, but he carries his backup .380 if his 10mm ever runs out

I carry an extra mag in kydex holders that I make myself. I have them for both in the pocket carry and on the belt carry. The pocket ones mainly just orient the mag upright and keep it still.

With 16 rounds in the mag, I can't see needing more. Heck, if I did NEED more, I'm probably going to be dead before running dry anyway....
I might be fatalistic, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong!

Maybe you didn't read the thread but the idea behind carrying a spare mag isn't for the extra ammo, it's in case your main mag malfunctions or becomes damaged in a struggle.
Most malfunctions on a gun are caused by the magazine and can be fixed by dropping a mag and tap racking a new one.

It is always handy to have an extra mag because you can never have too much ammo. I have a spare mag for my XDM in my car when I am out and about all day.

Carrying a concealed weapon is enough for me. Adding an extra mag or two, although nice, is just too much more junk to carry around everyday. This even more of a problem during the warmer months when I tend to wear less clothes. (no jackets or sweaters, etc.) As has been noted above, most situations involve only a few rounds being fired. I carry 13rds of 9mm. That should be enough to extricate myself from any threat.

I'll say it again for at least the 3rd time in this thread alone.
Carrying an extra mag is NOT about the ammo. It's about the weak link in a firearm being the magazine. Most malfunctions are due to a magazine failure. Bottomplates can fail dumping your ammo onto the ground. You can bump the bottomplate on the ground during a struggle and crack it and spill your ammo on the ground. You can have a weak spring and get failures to feed.
All this can be remedied by carrying a second mag, NOT FOR THE AMMO.
