My father decided I needed a .380 to go with my 40 cal bedside gun (XD40) and my 9mm CCW (LC9), so he gave me his DAO AMT Backup .380. I've heard lots of talk about poor reliability of these guns, but this particular one has been really faithful for him.
I picked it up at my FFL last weekend, and went to the range today. I put just over 100 rounds downrange; 100 of cheapo ball range ammo, and a few mags of CCI Gold Dot. One failure to fire on the Blazer, but I think that was the ammo, not the gun -- a very deep dimple in the primer. Gold Dot fed and fired flawlessly.
Anyway, a new CCW gun. It's all stainless, so it's heavier than a poly frame, but damn, it looks great and shoots great too!
Now I wear my Dad's old watch and carry his old pistol.
