Florida created Stand Your Ground Task Force

This is getting real scary now.........

(CNN) -- A task force set up to examine Florida's "stand your ground" law after the Trayvon Martin shooting met for the first time Tuesday, but its leader said the panel's job goes beyond the Martin case.
The 19-member panel will review the full scope of Florida laws governing residents' use of deadly force, not just the issues raised by Martin's death, Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll said at the outset of the session.

The task force will review Florida Statutes Title 46, Chapter 776, which deals with justifiable use of force -- including the "stand your ground" provision, which allows people to use deadly force when they feel a reasonable threat of death or serious injury. Critics and defenders of the law have argued over just what it allows, when it applies and whether it achieves its intended effect.

It blows my mind that some people are willing to give up this right and basically give the OK to the bad guys so they can beat you in the street where you stand. Its like saying "OK, I have no right to defend myself come and do as you wish".

All it takes is one "bad apple" to ruin it for the whole bunch.

The "bad apples" in this case are the stinking media, race hustlers, and the Obama administration.

So one "potentially innocent" person dies and Stand Your Ground gets a look. If Stand Your Ground goes away more innocent people will die from a lack of lawful self defense, but in those cases it will be bad guys gettng the upper hand. You can't avoid it either way. You can't legislate to save lives. This is just another knee jerk reaction to make the public happy. Let's hope this task force is just for show and their findings show that SYG stays.

So the person (and the situation involved) that pulled the trigger has nothing to do with it? There are people defensively using their firearm pretty much every day in Florida that the media outlets and others never raise an eyebrow at. Before pulling the trigger, there must be reasonable belief of great bodily harm or death and you don't shoot to stop a misdemeanor. There has obviously been reasonable doubt as to whether the actions/shot was necessary. Thank the shooter for not making it a clear-cut case.

what needs to happen down in florida is a bunch of black SWAT cops getting in a labrynth style house, posting up on facebook and twitter that zimmerman is in the house, and deal with the mob that ensues.

eliminate the race baiters and people causing problems all at once.

funny part is 20% of the people they shoot will be highly violent left leaning hippies that are white.

when they come through the door, shoot them drag them into the basement, put a cell phone blocker outside, cut down the house telephone lines, not their fault they couldn't get help, they were being attacked so they couldn't leave.

what I expect to happen is they put into the law that it does not cover you if you are persuing the bg, which means if someone makes it out of your front door you can't chase them when they are carrying your property...... will be very bad. Criminal guide 101 first day of class, clear the door and your home free.

In short, I doubt that any GOOD will come out of this. I see a knee jerk reaction that is now in full swing...

really though, isn't the Second Amendment all the "stand your ground" law we need?
