specifically says that it does not apply to weapons within a residence. just cant be out and about with one. means that I'd just stay home.

I am disturbed though since it does not have an automatic cancellation time. I think anything this severe should only be allowed to have a max 48hr lifespan, if longer time is required then it should have to be reinstated for another 48 hrs.

Absolutely ridiculous! Some vandalism, an incident with a "paint bomb", and the politicians think that this is going to help? Jesus H. Christ, thank god I live in Oklahoma!

I wasn't down there but did watch the events on TV this afternoon and also in the evening. A number of anarchists running around smashing store front windows, car windows, & some spray painting of cars, etc. A few small fires started. The Nike town store got damaged........and one of the guys doing the damage was wearing Nike's!

Why are they doing this, how long. So a citizen could not even transport a gun to the range. Wow, that guy sucks.

A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

i thought the point to arming yourself is to have it when you need it not for it to be taken away when you might need it

I live about 30-45min south of Seattle and I didn't hear anything about this...I kinda have mixed feelings about this order....
It specifically states an area of the city, so it does not encompass the whole city, just the affected area. Also, it states that it is only for as long as the situation exists. Its unfortunate that permitted CCW firearms get lumped into that, but I like that the police are being given the ability to take weapons away from the vandals. Watching the news there are MANY people running around with sticks, beating people, cars, and businesses.

Is it because of the May Day marches being done by the occupy idiots. They were doing that in Portland today and several arrests were made and immagration was involved I heard as well.

Apparently may day is a celebration of the working man. so there were a few demonstrations for that, plus the occupy movement had a couple marches. the anarchists were just mixed in trying to break stuff. they got shut down by PD pretty quick though. The police had a couple day warning that this was probably going to happen.
