I am glad to see I am with the norm on this. I was asking to get a general feel on the issue. Turns out it was a silly question.

I thought about this when talking with my dad this past weekend. I don't keep it Con1 all the time because I have to unholster in the car and the trigger is open and I'm limited to the places I can place it in my vehicle. Once my CHP comes in things will be different. That's why I practice draw and slide rack routinely.

My story is in the '80s. I went target shooting with my brother and friend before deer season. I was using a borrowed Remington from the friend. I was standing off the line behind them. I had it on my hip, barrel in the air, hand on the gun well above the trigger guard, taking a break and waiting my turn, and it went off. They both turned around and looked at me, and asked what happened. It just went off. I knew what had happened and didn't know why. I put the gun down, and never touched it again. Naturally, they were skeptical, as I would have been. Normally I would have thought NBC's piece might be a spin piece. Personal experience is otherwise.
