CCW Exposed Advice!! Help!!!

I didn't have time to search to see if this topic was already covered..if so...post the link to it..if not...throw in your two cents

Okay....Back story.. One day out of the blue my boss and I begin talking about CCW and about how their Aunt is licensed permit holder. So I asked them their thoughts on it and if they were for or against it. **And No they were and are still unaware that I have my CCW and was debating if to carry into work or just leave it in my truck in the gun safe.** Okay the end result of our conversation is that they said they had no problem with license holders and were fully aware of all the CONTINUED TRAINING they go through to be proficient and safe when carrying. Needless to safe shortly after that I began carrying into work.

Great you say! Awesome you say!... ok a few weeks ago i slipped up. I was bending over at the hips..instead of crouching down and another manager noticed something poking against the back of my shirt. As I was reaching down i heard her say" Whats that poking against your shirt....(pause) ...it isn't a gun or something is it (her voice was a tone of being appalled and disgust and "i'm gonnna tell on you") so without hesitation and in a nonchalant no big deal voice i said it was my phone **yes hindsight is 20/20 and i know no that makes no sense Because my phone is on my other hip in an otterbox belt clip thing** point is they bought the story and was rushed anyway so they let it go.

So.....

1. Has this happened to anyone else and what did you say?

2. In-case she asks me again...what should i say?

**my current intentions for the moment is to keep wearing the holster so they become familiar with seeing the clips on my belt..((Very similar to Cross Breed SuperTuck..)..but to lock my XD Subcompact in truck...which does me no good if you think about it

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you are violating a stated company policy, you should have nothing to fear. If you are carrying against policy, then the safe in your car is a good answer.

It also might be a good time to discuss this with you boss. The worst that can happen is they will deny your ability to carry. Since you are willing to do that on your own, then you are losing very little. If they approve, good deal.

Better yet invite your boss to join you as you continue to train as a responsible concealed carrier. They raised the issue, you have the opportunity to reinforce their positive mindset and may even get them to join the ranks.

I've never been made, because mine stays in the truck. Company policy won't let me carry inside the building, but a few years ago I was told by my loss prevention manager that in the vehicle is kosher.

My company doesn't care, but we have no customers on site, so I have no need for it on my person.

I talked with my boss\owner and he's ok with me carrying on the job. It makes him feel better that there is another trusted shooter in the office. He carries too.

I am retired but when I worked it was on federal property so was not even allowed to bring it on base even with a CCW.

But keep in mind. Most work place shootings are carried out by disgruntled employees or former employees.

I'm not going to confirm or deny where I keep mine when I go to work, however, I will say that I never go unarmed.

Unless you are breaking a company policy or the law it's no damn buisiness of hers what you are wearing.

But telling her it's a cell phone is perfectly acceptable. And where I work there are several people that cary more than one cell phone.
