1st time CCing...
Greetings all, I CC'd for the first time today. It was my wife's birthday and she wanted to go to a restaurant in South Padre Island, however, there is a lot of "traffic" in and about the surrounding areas. I usually take my XDm whenever I am in that part of the county anyway, but I decided to take my PF9 instead. I do not have an IWB holster yet, but seeing as my pants are a bit snug these days, I just tucked it into my jeans at about 5 o'clock. I had a sweater on, so it was covered. My only concern was that it might slide into my pants (stupid I know). However I did not have any problems. We went to the restaurant, the mall, the grocery store, and of course to our new Bass Pro Shop that just opened today! It took some convincing, but got my wife to agree to go inside (told her that they had fudge!) Since this was day one, it was packed! I actually bought a Blackhawk IWB # 01 for the PF9, it fit good, in fact too well... every time I draw, the holster stays on the gun, lol. So I will return it and try something else. Overall good experience, just gotta get a holster that fits the bill. My wife did not even know that I was carrying till we were looking at the holsters, so I guess I was not printing...

Congrats! I used the side clip for the PF9 before I got a holster for it. Little more secure than nothing but the waistband, but a little uncomfortable pressing against your skin.

I often CC my little PF9 with just the pants clip. Its perfect for a pocket if you wear something a bit baggier such as 5.11 pants. Just make sure you dab a little threadlock on the screws or every 4 rounds it'll come loose.

Eh, if you were left-handed, you could pick up a Crossbreed Supertuck from their seconds page for $40.

I remember when I first CC'd. It was at a restaurant too with a well-sized Ruger P89. It felt so big and heavy. I thought for sure everyone in the restaurant knew. I kept peeking around to see if I was being eyed by nervous mothers and crazy folks. But, everyone seemed to be contently focused on their bacon and waffles.
Amen to what Sluger6 said...be safe. Too many sad stories of needless accidents from a momentary lack of safety.

Did no one else read that he carried his PF9 Plaxico style? I'm glad you didnt hurt yourself or anyone else. Carrying without a holster is just plain stupid and irresponsible. But Im glad you bought a holster. And please think safety first!
