IL CCW Represenatives
Hey everyone,
Ok I live in IL and we do not have any type of carry for those of you that don't know. I am looking up the state reps in my area and don't see any of them sponsoring the bill. I am new to all this and would like some direction on who I should be contacting and what that conversation should sound like in general. This is IL first real shot at getting a carry law and I would like to make sure I do my part. Thanks in advance for any help. And sorry if this is in the wrong area I tried.

If your reps aren't co-sponsors, encourage them to do so. Be polite and to the point.
From the voting that occurred on the FOID privacy bill, it looks like there are more pro-2A reps than one might believe. Or at least a lot of fence sitters know which way the wind is blowing and are looking to preserve their political careers.
The more they hear from constituents the more they can be influenced in the right (no pun intended) direction.

There is no "Common Sense Gun Regulation". There is only unconstitutional gun restriction.
I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

So would the be the State Senator? Or the US Representative? I looked up my area and they gave me a list of people that represent my area.

state senators is who we need to be talking to. This is all on the state level. Also might as well start writing the governers office as even if the bill gets passed it has to make it past his office.

Milhouse, just because your rep isn't on the cosponsor list doesn't mean he or she supports it. Rumor has it we have the 71 votes to over ride a veto. Senate has has they will vote on it if it makes it though. The deadline for the vote is Thursday from what I understand.

Well they pushed back the deadline but I read a news article that said the vote was going to be this week. Anyone know what day or anything more about it?
