IA CCW permit is waiting for me...
I got to the county Sheriff's office a couple of minutes too late today, so looks like I get to pick up my permit Monday. Naturally, since IA just went to Shall Issue, they're somewhat backlogged getting it all done; took 3 weeks for me.
But for now, carrying around the home/property to get used to it while I wait. So far, just using a cheap holster at 3 o'clock seems to be best (but the cheap holster isn't great for comfort; note to self: get a CBST).

I picked up my permit today; now to get a real holster. Even with the cheap thing, it's not that hard to conceal the 4.5" .45 XDm. Rather nice considering.
