I scored a 96 on the written and 100% on the range. My little XD9 SC performed very well. Unfortunately during our practice rounds I had the only misfire I've ever had from it, I hadn't slapped the magazine home firmly enough because I was a bit nervous. I'm not used to all the noise and the people walking around and being right next to me Once I got over that I was quite pleased with my little gun, it fired the other 85 rounds beautifully.

I took my class at BELT Concealed Weapons Training and I really enjoyed it. The instructors were very personable and easy to talk to, they have a nice outdoor range (it was my first time on an outdoor range) and they provided a good spread for lunch. They're offering an advanced class in May that I'm thinking about registering for. I'm really glad I found them.

Okay, off to do a little gun scrubbing.

Fantastic first post!!! Welcome from a Fellow SC'er

What did you qualify with? Do you have a good carry holster yet? What about a belt?

Welcome to the forum - you will learn a TON from the knowledge on this board.

Nerd: I qualified with my Springfield Armory XD SC 9mm, using a mishmosh of cheap FMJ range rounds with a little Federal and some Georgia Arms thrown in. I wore my Blackhawk Serpa holster and I snitched one of my husband's old leather duty belts at the last minute rather than wear the nylon tactical belt that I usually wear on the range. I knew I was going to be sitting a lot and the nylon tends to get a bit scratchy. I like my nylon belt and the Blackhawk holster, but neither are something I want to wear for daily carry so I'm looking at other options.
Tcox4freedom, Slugger: Thanks!

Awesome! You should check out Crossbreed Holsters - VERY comfortable!

Also, now that I see you're female, check out Falia's video on YouTube - many different options for carrying concealed for women:

Nerd, Thanks for the video links. I have been looking at the crossbreed holsters, Lisa Marie had one and demo'd it for me during one of the breaks at class. It looked very comfortable, I'm just not sure how well it would work when summer gets cranking down here. I'd hate to fiddle around to minimize printing only to have a damp ring announce my weapon a few hours later!

Congrats buddy. I just took my SC CWP class almost three weeks ago @ Defender Range in Lexington. I happened to have made a 100 on the range qualification and the written test . Glad to have another future SC CWP holder here. Send that SLED application in quick since I heard it does take the full 90 days for it to come back. Again Congrats man. where in SC are you located?
