If your work place is NOT a pistol free zone and you want to carry but you boss says " i dont think i like that you carry a gun, I dont want you doing that any more."
do i have to stop carryin it?
can you boss go out a make it a "Pisto free zone"?
can he fire you if you carry after he says not to and it is still NOT a pistol free zone?

If guns kill people than so do bar tenders and the guy that serves you at MC Donald's
If I carried a gun at work, I'd be fired on the spot, and it isn't a place that is restricted for carry.
I like my job, so I don't carry at work.
Would I if I could? Hell yes..
At work is the only time I don't carry..
Businesses don't want to be liable for a shooting, justified or not.
Your boss doesn't want you carrying, drawing your pistol, or worse, using it while on his dime.
Of course he can fire you, why would you think otherwise?

It is probably not what you want to read, but you do not have much option. Don't know your age, job, alternate employment opportunities, career expectations, family or financial obligations, etc. But whether he is right or even legal in his position to determine if you carry, expect any differences in opinion, outlook or philosophy to be reflected in job assignments, ratings, promotions. Even if he is the rare boss that can separate personal feelings from job performance evaluations, it will still be in his mind that you were defiant of his 'suggestion' not to carry. If possible, you may discretely canvass for transfer possibilities if he is not the top dog. Listen around, find out if any other bosses are pro-NRA or own/carry firearms. Approach them about a transfer but without immediately stating the reason unless you are sure of the pecking order of the management. Just don't 'frying pan to fire' because of a hurry. If you need the job, let him know you have considered his input and have decided not to carry to improve his opinion of your judgment (in his eyes) to get a rating that looks good for wherever you are hoping to transfer. Don't carry in the mean time. (At least not the same piece in the same possibly known location on your person. There are some really small pocket guns). If you value your right to carry more than you need the job or any future promotions, than ignore his request. You probably won't have to put up with his attitude for long as you will be gone by his hand. Most states will not find in your favor in a work dispute of this type. (i.e. present proof that was the only reason you are out of a job)
In my state and with the jobs I worked for many years, there was never any remote possibility of legal on-job-carry. Good luck whatever you decide.

That sucks. I am fortunate enough to work for a boss that encourages CCW. Half of us either have or are getting their permits, we just can't carry at certain customers premises where it is illegal to carry in the first place (hospital or school)

All employees at my place of employment, walk through a metal detector going in and out...
That might give me away...

If your boss doesn't want you to carry, either find a new employer with a different outlook or leave the gun in your car. In some states violating a set firearms policy can result in your facing trespassing charges and almost anywhere you can be fired on the spot for cause.
