slide lightening external

I am fond of this, question is can this be done effectively after already been custom plated?
If so, what could be done other than having my slide re-plated? ( as in another finish just where it has been cut.)

If your slide has been hard chromed and you want the cuts to be hard chromed, the entire slide would have to be re hard chromed. The old hard chrome would have to be removed.

Yes, I understand.

What I am asking I guess is that some of the newer finishes such as ionbond or the like that is spayed on.
Could they be controlled to just the part relieved (cut)? since they can use low-er temp not to rainbow or distort the existing finish?
