Hello folks! long time reader first time poster here. I love guns, All guns. If it goes "BOOM" I like it.
Anyways, to my question....
I have a Frank Wesson .44 Caliber rimfire tip up rifle with a 24" octagon barrel. Passed to me from my grandad, and to him from his grandad. Here is what's stamped on the barrel...
Frank Wesson
Worcester Mass.
Pat'd Oct. 25, 1859 & Nov.11, 1862
Believed (to me at leist) to be a 2nd type made around 1863 to 1875 or 1876. Estimated quanity is around 5,000 units. Oh, and did I mention it is serial #3?
If anyone has ANY knowledge on this rifle i'd very much like to hear it. Thanks Folks!
On to the pics!
